InSilence is a guided 2-hour ancient spiritual pause. Silence is a gateway to wisdom and opens a way into the inner sanctuary of the heart and welcomes encounters with God.
God is always communicating with us. The problem is that most people do not know how to be silent enough so that they can actually hear God speak. But if you can quiet the mind and find the place within you that the Christ resides, not only will communication begin, but that communication will turn into communion
Daniel Portnoy
Weather permitting, InSilence is done outside and could possibly involve walking, solitude and spending time in nature. Comfortable walking shoes, a notebook and pen, and cushion and or blanket to sit on is recommended.
Participants are introduced to, and guided in Ignatian spirituality* practices where they encounter God everywhere, and in everything. Practices include contemplative prayer such as the Examen, Centering Prayer, and Imaginative (Ignatian) Contemplation.
See Events for the dates and address in Bloemfontein. InSilence will typically be on a Saturday or Sunday between 15:00-17:00. After the session, participants are welcome to stay for informal conversation and enjoy a cup of coffee.
Cost: Donations for the Retreat sponsorship fund will be appreciated. Depending on the location, an access fee can apply and refreshments will be sold.
“Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation.”
